Apps of The Trade: Jingit

Apps are a a great way to get moneymakers from grocery stores, which unlike drug stores tend to not have the same rewards ways of making a profit. (Unless it's one of the rare stores that will allow an overage with coupons.)

I debated which App to start with, as there are about 7 I use regularly for money making and couponing. I finally decided to start with Jingit. The main reason being, I have never seen it mentioned on any other coupon sites.

There are a couple different ways to earn with Jingit, that are outside the traditional "buy something" method of coupons.

From time to time there are videos posted that you can watch and answer a few questions afterwards and earn a little bit.

They also have "check ins" where you scan the barcode of a product in the store and earn some money as well. (As far as I've seen, these seem to be limited to Walmart.)

Then there is the more traditional method of most apps: reserve an item (their 24 hour window is a shorter than most) and submit a receipt from a participating store.

It localizes things so I can only see local stores, but best I can tell, the participating stores are:

  • Walmart
  • Target
  • Walgreens
  • Kmart
  • CVS
  • Kroger
  • Jay C
  • Ruler Foods
  • Dillions
  • Bakers
  • King Soopers
  • City Market
  • Fred Meyer
  • Ralphs
  • Food 4 Less
  • QFC or Smiths
  • Safeway
  • Randalls
  • Tom Thumb
  • Stater Bros
  • Cub Foods
  • Albertsons
  • VONS
  • Publix

You can cash out your earnings for gift cards at minimum thresholds:

  • Walmart: $5.00 minimum
  • Target: $5.00 minimum
  • Sephora: $10.00 minimum
  • Cabela's: $10.00 minimum
  • AMC: $10.00 minimum

As of 10/27/14 you can now cash out directly to your checking account!

I've actually had an account for years, back from when they were a purely pay to watch commercials site. A few weeks ago, when I already had moneymaker at Walgreens on Crest, I was able to add an extra $0.40 to my profit using this app. I know my wife has made around $8.00 in the last couple of months through a combination of videos, checkins and rebates.

So for those of you that didn't know about this one, here is another weapon in the money saving digital arsenal.
